New to print buying? Check our step by step guide to the printing process.
Step 1 – Estimating
The first stage is to understand exactly what you need and what it will cost. We can advise you on paper  stocks, inks and colour, recommended minimum quantities and finishing techniques. Rather than bamboozling you with limitless options, we can offer simple advice on the best way of getting the best based on your needs and your budget.
Step 2 – Job planning
Our comprehensive planning system allows us to plan jobs many months ahead, and slot in urgent jobs that arise without jeopardising other deadlines. This way we can remain as flexible as possible, while only making promises we know we can deliver.

Step 3 – Artwork
You can supply anything from finished artwork on disk to a hastily scribbled note on the back of a napkin. Our pre-press technicians are trained to work in many design and layout software packages, and our studio is well equipped to receive a wide range of different formats on both PC and Apple computers. We will advise you of any costs to get your artwork ready for print, and only proceed with work with your written authorisation, to avoid any nasty surprises. If you are thinking of creating your own artwork, it’s worth seeing here for some useful guidelines.

Step 4 – Proofing
It’s vital that everyone understands and agrees what the finished job should look like, and a printed proof is still the most reliable way to achieve this. If a deadline or budget doesn’t allow for a printed proof, we can supply an electronic proof via email that you can receive and approve before we make the plates and print the job.

Step 5 – Printing
we have the latest printing presses manned by skilled print minders. Different presses are suitable for different jobs, but if you need us to match the colour of an older printed sample, please supply it to us along with your artwork.
Step 6 – Finishing
There are a huge range of creative and practical finishing techniques to consider, including laminating, foil blocking, embossing, stitching, folding, binding, drilling and punching. If you would like to find out more about these options with samples to hand, please contact us.
Step 7 – Dispatch
To one or more addresses, on time and in perfect condition.
